My post KubeCon thoughts ๐ญ
2 min read
One of the many reasons I never feel down is that I see what impacts me and whom I impact.
Last week at KubeCon Europe, I felt truly blessed to be recognized by folks worldwide for my contributions. CEOs, founders, and tech geniuses came up to me and hit me with the "your content is great!". I believe there's still a lot for me to learn. There are so many creators that I look up to every day. Imposter syndrome is something I do not suffer from because when I find myself in a place where I don't know much about something, I take that as an opportunity to learn from others and contribute.
During KubeCon, I also crossed 200K subscribers on YouTube and 80k on Twitter. It was also amazing to see so many students attend the event. This is something I worked with the CNCF on a few months before the event.
A year ago, this was hard to imagine as a student. Yet, the community is so kind, supportive, and encouraging. It was also my first in-person talk at KubeCon and third overall. The team I get to work with at Civo is fantastic. This year, I also spent majority of my time staffing the Civo booth, which in itself was a great experience.
I owe everything to open source. The opportunities that I am getting are off the roof. This has been a good month. There are still many things to be done, but we are getting there, and we're on the right track.
For students who are reading, I just recommend you to do these things, and everything will fall into place:
- Study (ofc) and apply that somewhere.
- Take guidance from folks who are active globally. They have seen how the world works.
- Be humble and practice gratitude as well as empathy.
Thanks, everyone.
